SAAM Day of Action & Teal Day
Nationally recognized in the United States and observed annually as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), SAAM Day of Action provides a day to focus awareness on sexual violence prevention.
As our communities face unprecedented circumstances, our agency and community partners are still working hard to support survivors. For the second year in a row, we are asking community members, businesses and organizations to come together in support of survivors on Sexual Assault Awareness Month Day of Action. We are uniting to ensure survivors know they are supported by their communities and so people are aware of resources available. We encourage individuals to wear teal and organizations to participate in an awareness post on social media platforms (details below).
FOR ORGANIZATIONS:
This multi-county post is intended to unite organizations while raising awareness and taking a stand against sexual assault. If you are interested in participating, simply post on your social media platforms at 11 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. We will be using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Below is an image provided by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center and a caption to be used. If your organization has information they’d like to add to the content, please feel free to do so.

We support survivors! Today is #SAAMDayOfAction during Sexual Assault Awareness Month and we are joining community members throughout Isabella, Clare and Gratiot Counties in supporting survivors. Consent is essential in putting an end to sexual assault and we are proud to take part in this community-wide movement.
